About the Careers Office

The Careers Office runs careers.gov.vin, the single point of enlistment for every department of the Velocity Interoperability Network. It receives enlistments and passes each one to the department named on it.

The Office is a network service rather than a department. It was established on 6 September 2026, the day the departments were established, and it is deliberately small: it holds no record of candidates, takes no part in selection and has no positions of its own to fill. Its purpose is to give the Network one place to enlist and one description of what follows.

Responsibilities. The Office's work falls into four areas.

Receiving enlistments
The Careers Office runs the single enlistment form used by every department of the Network.
Passing enlistments to departments
Each enlistment is passed, unchanged, to the department named on it. The Careers Office does not assess candidates and keeps no copy once an enlistment has been passed on.
Publishing vacancies
Departments notify the Office of the positions they wish to fill, with a reference, a grade and a closing date. The Office publishes them as received.
Publishing the procedure and the terms
The Careers Office describes how enlistment works, the common procedure for selection and appointment and the common terms and conditions of service, and answers common questions, so that candidates know what to expect.

For the Office's origins and the decisions taken on its establishment, see History. General enquiries may be sent to contact@careers.gov.vin.
